THE WALLEN FAMILY FROM PLYMOUTH COLONY TO TENNESSEE 1623-1845-by Rowena
Lawson. A short narrative of the migration of the East Tennessee Wallen family.

WALLEN CHRONICLES-by I.E. Wallen. Dr. Wallen has documented his direct line with
particular emphasis on the descendants of James R. Wallen born 1818 and including
several allied families.

ELISHA WALLEN PENSION FILE OF 1832-This Elisha born 1760 was a son of Thomas
Walling born 1730 and his pension application was filed in Warren County, Ohio based
on his Revolutionary War service.

DAVID DOLLING WEDDLE DIARY-D. D. Weddle was a son of Rosamond Walling and a
grandson of Joseph Wallen 1734-1792. Weddle's diary was written in Oregon and gives his
family's version of how the Wallens come to be in Tennessee, Indian troubles, and an
insight into everyday living at the end of the 19th century.

JOSEPH B. WALLING DATE BOOK-Joseph B. Walling born 1798 left Tennessee about
1850 and settled in Missouri. The date book contains about 28 pages and lists many of the
descendants of James Carr Wallen 1771-1845. Includes marriages, birth dates and children.

THE WALLEN FAMILY-RALPH WALLEN TO JOSH EDWARD WALLEN-TWELVE
GENERATIONS-by Joe E. Wallen. A compilation of my research on my direct and collateral
lines in two volumes.

WILLIAM HENRY WALLEN FAMILY BIBLE-William H. Wallen 1879-1958 was my grandfather
and his Bible was copyrighted in 1893. It lists his marriages and all his children with birth,
marriage and death dates.

JOSEPH B. WALLEN FAMILY BIBLE-Joseph B. Wallen 1840-1912 was a Primitive Baptist
elder (minister) and his Bible is copyrighted 1875. It lists the birth and death of James Carr
Wallen 1771-1845 and wife Mary; births of all their children and the marriage and children of
William J. "Big Sandy" Wallen 1816-1886. Also lists marriages and children of Joseph B.
Wallen.

YESTERYEAR IN THE HILLS-by Homer Wallen. A wonderful narrative of the early life of
Homer Wallen who grew to manhood in Hancock County, Tennessee in the early 1900's.

THE WORLD BOOK OF WALLENS-Basically, a world-wide phone book of people with the
Wallen surname. Contains a small amount of general family genealogy.

WALLENS IN THE MILITARY-by Delmer Wallen, Jr. A comprehensive list of Wallens who
served in the military from pre-Colonial times to the present.

A LIFE-by Charles Wallen, Jr. A two million-plus word autobiography written in 25 page
installments by Charles Wallen, Jr. born 1920 at Kyles Ford, Tennessee. Contains much
unpublished information on the Wallen and other families of Kyles Ford, Tennessee, family
legends and tales of Charles' boyhood.

HISTORY OF THE LOST STATE OF FRANKLIN-by Samuel Cole Williams. Story of the
Western North Carolina counties that severed ties with their mother state and began their
own government, later to become Eastern Tennessee.
